Cross-disciplinary workshops for all the teaching staff at the Technion

The Center offers various workshops for the Technion teaching staff. The workshops are conducted under the guidance of pedagogical experts from the center. The workshops include experience in teaching practices, examples from STEM teaching in higher education, discussions and activities

The center offers workshops on the following topics:

Teaching and Learning – Workshops that focus on a variety of teaching methods, their impact on learning, and effective ways to use them, for example, “How to implement problem-based learning in a science or engineering course.”

Assessment – Workshops that focus on methods and strategies for assessing learning and their impact on teaching and learning during the course. For example, “Learning throughout the semester! On continuous learning and/or ongoing assessment.”

Learning Technologies – Workshops that focus on empowering and promoting learning through technological tools. Demonstration of teaching methods that combine the use of techno-pedagogical tools in the classroom. For example, “Teaching and learning using artificial intelligence – AI generators.” Additionally, some of the workshops focus on developing online video lessons or courses, for example, “I Feel Like Digital 1# – Creating an Asynchronous Digital Lesson.”

Integrating 21st Century Skills in Teaching and Learning – Workshops that focus on integrating skills such as teamwork, critical thinking, and presenting topics as part of the learning goals in the course. For example, “What is the connection between science/engineering and reflection? – How to integrate skill development as part of the course.”

Workshops tailored to faculty

You may order from among the workshops offered in the center’s catalog, workshops adjusted to the faculty’s needs and conducted with referring to examples and teaching methods relevant to the content area.
Additionally, it is possible to develop in collaboration with the faculty management, the faculty learning designer (or a  teaching consultant) a unique workshop for the faculty, which does not appear in the catalog.
